How often should my child see the pediatrician?
For newborns and infants, we recommend regular check-ups every few months to monitor growth and development. After age 2, annual wellness visits are usually sufficient unless otherwise recommended.
What should I bring to my child’s first appointment?
Please bring your child’s medical history, vaccination records, insurance information, and any relevant paperwork from previous healthcare providers.
MEET OUR PRACTITIONERS
Dr. Shilpa Sulochana
Dr Shilpa Sulochana is a Board Certified pediatrician joining our group in Round Rock. She is originally from India and obtained her medical degree from Bangalore medical college, India. Then she moved to US to get her training in Pediatrics from Nassau University Medical center, NY. After her graduation Dr. Sulochana worked as a General Pediatrician and as a hospitalist in Houston Medical center, Georgia and then moved to Florida where she worked for Advent Health systems for four years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr Sulochana is residing in Austin with husband and her two kids and in her spare time she likes traveling, exploring new places and enjoys playing volleyball. Dr Sulochana is excited to be a part of this community and looks forward to give a comprehensive and quality care for your children.
Dr. Asha Mathew
Dr. Asha Mathew, MD is a Board Certified pediatrician. She attended Pediatric Residency training at Children’s Hospital, Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center, El Paso. Following residency, Dr. Mathew moved to Austin with her family and worked as outpatient Pediatrician in Hutto and then in Cedar Park. As a child, she was inspired by the wonders of medical field and the amazing power it has on touching the lives of individuals, especially children. She carries this passion to work everyday. On other days, you can catch her spending quality time with her family, playing a game of badminton or catching up on movies and music. She loves traveling and long journeys. She and her husband have a son, Michael. As a family, they engage actively in church activities and charity events. Dr. Mathew is excited to be a part of Pediatric Center of Round Rock team and is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to children of all ages.
Mary Coghlan
Mary Coghlan, grew up in both Florida and Texas and attended The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school in 2019, she worked in the NICU at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She returned to The University of Texas School of Nursing for graduate school in 2021, where she completed clinical rotations at several clinics around Austin, including River Ridge Pediatrics (where she also worked as a nurse). She fell in love with the providers and patients at River Ridge and, upon receiving her Master of Science in Nursing in Pediatric Primary Care in May 2023, decided to join the River Ridge family. She also joined our sister location, Pediatric Center of Round Rock. Mary is passionate about the care of her patients and is excited to partner with patients and families in helping kids achieve their optimal growth and development.
Dr. Himabindu Valmiki
Dr. Himabindu Valmiki is a Board Certified pediatrician. She completed her Pediatric Residency training at Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center, El Paso in 2006. Following residency, she worked at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. She moved to Round Rock in 2007 and has practiced as an outpatient Pediatrician in and around the Austin area since then. She enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, listening to music and reading books. She has always been passionate about the medical field and knew she wanted to work with children since she was in elementary school. She thoroughly enjoys seeing her patients grow up throughout the years and is grateful to be a part of their medical care. Dr. Valmiki is excited to provide compassionate and quality care to the Round Rock community.
